Duxtop Portable Induction Cooktop Review – Our #1 Recommendation For Portable Induction Cooktop

Today on our induction cooktop reviews, we will be reviewing the newer model of the Duxtop 1,800 Watts portable induction cooktop. It really is a great beginner’s model for those who are interested in trying induction cooking for the first time. You can’t go wrong this one.

What’s The Usual Price Range?

 $90 – $170 (Check Current Price)

This small awesome burner  is probably one of the bestsellers on Amazon when it comes to induction burners. Right now you can purchase our #1 recommendation for portable induction cooktop with a 40% discount at Amazon.

What Are The Unique Benefits?

  1. Aesthetically pleasing to the eyes - Out of all the cooktops that I’ve seen online, the Duxtop Induction cooktop is simply beautiful. The design of the cooktop is very slick and seems like they took a page out of Steve Job’s design and designed it to be simple but elegant. It seriously looks great on my granite countertop.
  2. Sensor Touch Control Panel -  The buttons on the older models tend to wear down after a few years but the new sensor touch is great and sensitive. I mean I love everything touch screen and the fact that the entire control panel is controlled by touch screams total geek. Who said geeks can’t cook? But seriously, induction cooktops are probably the only cooktop that can make touch control panels possible because you won’t get burned. Try building a touch control panel for your gas stove.
  3. Significantly Light - It only ways 9lbs, which makes it super portable. That way you won’t have to just use it in your kitchen, but it’s great for summer backyard cooking.

What Are Some Possible Disadvantages?

  • Display won’t turn off fully - Even when you’re not using the cooktop, the display shows “–”. It just seems a bit confusing, and a simple design flaw. I did think of a solution, you can either just unplug it after every use or install a switch plug that allows you to turn it on and off from your switch.
  • Short Electric Chord- Another small annoyance about this product was that it’s cord was a bit short, but of course this can be  easily solved with an extension cord. I actually prefer the short cord for less clutter.

How We Rank It?

I give it a 5star rating because this model is the best if you interested in trying out induction cooking. I might be a little biased because this was my first portable induction cooktop, which basically made me a convert to induction cooking. But honestly, the price is probably the best for the quality that you get. Also the learning curve isn’t that steep when I used this product. I got a handle of the temperatures pretty quickly on this model. You can read our second review of a different portable induction cooktop here.

What Other Customers Have Said About This Product?

I can’t agree more with these reviews. It’s not a surprise that it has over 50+  customer reviews, which you can read here.

Where Can I Find the Best Deal Online For The Duxtop Portable Induction Cooktop?

I love shopping with Amazon because they really have the best deals I’ve seen on induction cooktops and they also offer free shipping with any product over $25. Also you won’t have to pay any sales tax!
You can purchase the Duxtop Portable Induction Cooktop at Amazon for under $100. There is also an older model available, which you can get from Amazon for under $80, but it doesn’t come with the sensor touch control panel.

  • [...] However, if you’re not sure if you want to fully invest into an induction cooktop, you can try using an induction burner, which on average costs less than $100. They’re just as powerful as the induction cooktop and you can read my recommendations and reviews here. [...]

  • [...] What Are The Unique Benefits To This Portable Induction Cooktop? [...]

  • This thing is amazing- there is no inertia! If you turn it on your food starts sizzling within seconds. If you turn it off your food stops sizzling within seconds. If you change temperature settings they happen within seconds. My only nit-pick is that the read out is behind smoked glass and has too low of a contrast, I have a hard time reading it.
